Pac-Man gets a reality show -- for real

You can't make this shiz up. But apparently, Namco Bandai and Merv Griffin Entertainment are. Word on the street is that the two companies have banded together to produce what could be the strangest reality show ever to grace the world of Reality TV. Pac-Man reality show, anyone?

You read that right. They're actually gunning for a reality show featuring not Pac-Man the boxer Manny Pacquiao, but the arcade classic yellow, pellet-eater. How the heck are they going to pull that off? Merv Griffiin's president of TV Roy Bank has the answer: "The idea we have is to take what Pac-Man is and bring it to life, to bring what is essentially the world's biggest game of tag to television."

Something like this. With a lot of this. Maybe.

That's it? It's going to be a pimped up game of tag? Well, if he is to be believed, it's going to be a "big, crazy Wipeout-type event with a lot of energy." Yeah, okay. Whatever you say, dude.

Frankly, I still can't quite figure out in my head how this will pan out. Will the contestants be put in one house, forced to forge relationships even when they compete against each other outside the house? Will there be "ghosts" chasing after them in a maze filled with glowing, yellow pellets, and the occassional fruit basket? What? Why? Whyyyyyyyy???

anybody remember "I survived a japanese gameshow"? Probly like that. 2 teams, games every week, loser gets eliminated. They never said it would be limited to classic pacman, so they can get creative with the games and bring in elements from pac-attack, or even have games based off mappy, or pole position. I'd watch. ^^

They're not Japanese. Merv Griffin Entertainment is an American company and thus, this will be an American show.

He's a yellow guy (probably Overdosed), in a dark nightclub, popping pills, chasing ghosts and listening to repetitive music.
