Official Call of Duty: Black Ops launch playlists announced, no third person mode

Treyarch has recently released the launch playlists for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops. But in releasing said information, an unfortunate discovery was made: the third person mode is nowhere to be found.

No explanation was given as to why there was no playlist listed for the third person mode, but what we do know is that design director David 'Vhan' Vonderhaar is "pretty with the playlists.

Core:

Team Deathmatch (TDM) (12 players)
Mercenary (MERC) (12 players)
Free-for-All (FFA) (8 players, smaller maps)
Domination (DOM) (12 players)
Ground War (GW) (18 players, larger maps)
Demolition (DEMO) (12 players)
Sabotage (SAB) (12 players)
Headquarters (HQ) (12 players)
Capture the Flag (CTF) (12 players)
Search and Destroy (SnD) (12 players)
Team Tactical (TEAM TAC) (12 players)

Barebones:

Pure (No Perks, Killstreaks, Attachments, Equipment, or Contracts) (12 players)
Classic (Killstreaks at 3, 5 and 7) (12 players)
Team Tactical (Pure version with mixed bag of objective modes) (12 players)

Hardcore:

Team Deathmatch (TDM) (12 players)
Search and Destroy (SnD) (12 players)
Headquarters (HQ) (12 players)
Free-for-All (FFA) (8 players)

Wager Matches

These are more of a subject to change kind of deal, Vahn did not report on wager matches in the forum today

i made the mistake of buy call of duty black ops , then found out there was no third person view, the game sucks with out it , played the game for 30 mins then tried to return the game , no luck there , ended up just giving the game to the girl that works there , $100 down the drain , grr will read the box next time

But what makes me worry is... I loved team tac on COD4, due to the small 3 on 3 teams. I started playing MW2 when they finally brought non-third person team tac, even though it was 4 on 4.

this team tac has the same amount of players as team death match... If thats true, that sucks.

besides i would rather play the gun game anytime rather than 3rd person xD lol having only a gun with one bullet is goona be awesome!!!

would be nice to see larger amount of players in the map ex 16x16 or 12x12 and also a perkless mode, thats really what its missing, get just the killstreak and make the game more even.

eg. free for all 10+,
TDM (etc) 16+
Ground war 24+...

I never played third person once, so I can't really complain, but I can't see why you'd take it out. I am however sad about seeing WAR gone from Cod5, that mode was really cool.

Third person takes more optimization--it's not just as simple as taking the camera and putting it somewhere above and behind the player. It they don't spend the time to make it right, they're just scaring people away from that option and blemishing the name of great 3rd person shooters.

I actually liked the 3rd Person Mode, it won't keep me from buying the game but I still think they should have incorporated it.

I wish they would also add Mercenary to other game modes besides Team Death Match. Sometimes I just hate joining games like Domination or Headquarters cause a lot of clans play on there and they basically pwn everyone on the other team who are a bunch of random people.

Something i couldn't understand with MW2, they have ground war which is pretty much DM so why not have it as a hardcore mode. When will they learn that more players = more fun. This isn't going on my to-get list, bring on GT5 :)

Cage Match???

I never used CM as a way to boost. I just loved the intense gameplay.

Rather than letting the boosters ruin it for the rest of us, why not include the mode, but not Ranked, so the XP or headshots, etc, does not go onto our stats/unlock camo?

I wouldn't care if I didn't rank up while in that particular game mode - at least I could just play it.

It would also mean I wouldn't have to have "NoHS" as my clan tag.

And yeah, I will also miss 3rd Person. Loved it.

i know 3rd person was crap for most, but i don't think they should rule it out. since it is fun to try out sometimes. just adds variety.

Treyarch still need to give credit to the former IW team, after all blacks ops engine is IW's. imagine how crap the game would be without the help from the former IW team... oh w8 we don't need to, just try call of duty 3 lol.

i really would like to see the 3rd person game on black ops because thats all i play , lots of people play it , for xbox , pc , and ps3 . i know people hate it but thats y its an option if u dont want to play it , if u dont play it then dont play it but if u like to try new things then 3rd person is something new, but yea i hope they change their minds and put in 3rd person mode in it , at least 3rd person team tactical

I've had it with the fuxking! Campers & wall huggers! Cod need to reli sort this out! There's no 3rd person on black ops what is the biggest let down ever! You know what il sell black ops, buy medal of honour instead and if i ever fancy playing cod il just play modern warfare 2 cuz that's got 3rd person on it!

Very disappointed with there efforts on black ops! Not going to waste my money on there shit games from now on!!!

The reason why I want third person is because 15% of us gamers get an extreme headache and nauseated in the first person view. I played the demo and it is brilliant. However, after 10 minutes of playing in the first person, I get nauseated and want to vomit.

There should be a choice.

I would like to also say that we can make our point without the profanity. Yes, you can reply and curse me out, but that just prove how strong your communication skill is.
