It had been the subject of rumor for a while, but as TGS came, it was finally announced that Devil May Cry will return to the scene as DmC. While the announcement itself wasn't exactly unexpected, there was a bit of surprise when we got a look at the new Dante - younger, skinnier, and in short black hair. The developers from Ninja Theory explain how they got there.

While I think the game looks interesting, it definitely isn't DMC.

I wasn't feeling the new look on Dante either. Not that it has anything to do with being emo or to appeal to the Justin Beiber fans out there IMO, This might be a prequel to DMC 3 to show you how he got to being the Dante he became in 3.
I can't decide what to make of their Dante decision since it was Capcom's plan to "risk getting the fan's mad" (This is exactly what they told Ninja Theory to do, because Capcom owns the franchise. Look it up.), But Ninja Theory makes top - quality games with a good storyline. Just because Dante looks "EMO", dosen't mean he's gonna be a whinning little bitch throughout the game. They should know not to let the franchise down.

First they tried it with Infamous 2, gave him the whole guy-with-dark-hair-is-always-the-hero look, then realized nobody wanted that and kept his look. I'm tired of looking at game covers with nothing but the so-called hero having nothing but dark hair, a gun in his hand looking tough all the time lol.
If none of you know what I'm talking about, check out the game covers for a lot of the new games when you go and get one.

And dante has always changed in look as well as DMC every iteration after DMC1. Idk why people is surprised with this one.
And fyi, this isn't a reboot either. It's really just a prequel to DMC3 and using the DMC manga story where Dante was under the alias of Tony Redgrave and was still traumatized by his Mother and Brother(suppose d) death at an early age.
Give this game a chance guys...really, the action, gameplay and personality is still there.
