Did you know that Square Enix was supposed to give Nier exclusively to Microsoft for the Xbox 360? That's true, no less than Square Enix Executive Producer Yosuke Saito revealed this nifty trivia in an interview with Japanese website Inside Games.
According to him, when they started developing Nier, they only had the Xbox 360 console in mind. However, later on in the process, the decision to make it also for the PS3 came up. He also said that they did encounter some difficulties "in implementing a multi-platform deployment, during the early part of the build."
At the end of the day, it looks like Square Enix made the right call bringing it to the PS3 as Nier reached 7th place in the Japanese charts, selling some 150,000 copies. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 version didn't even make it to the top 50.

not to mention for this generation of consoles they have pretty much been only releasing crap games

but expect me to be no problems with FFXIII late in development so FFXIII did not take a hit in release schedule or degrade the PS3 version.
