Once again, the global authority for all sorts of world records has released a new slate of feats from different corners of the gaming scene. There's an 85-year-old Wii bowling master, the game with the most swearing, and a fan with a huge collection of Mario memorabilia. That and more, coming right up.
The 85-year-old Wii bowling master is John Bates of Onalaska, Wisconsin, USA, a former high school principal. He had never touched a video game in his life until April 2009 when he received Wii Sports as a gift. As a real bowler in his local lanes, he got so hooked on Wii Sports Bowling that he now holds the record for most perfect games on the game with 2,850.
Then on the opposite end of the age bracket, nine-year-old Ryota Wada from Tokyo, Japan, became the youngest player ever to score AAA on Dance Dance Revolution. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Mitsugu Kikai, also from Tokyo, has the biggest collection of Marior memorabilia with 5,400 individual items - a collection that he started with since he was a child.
Annie Leung from San Francisco, California, represents that girl gamers in the books with the highest score set by a female on Guitar Hero 3 with 789,349 points.
Hold up, there's more.

The fact that Master Chief is on there, and above Pac-Man even, tells a lot about the demographics. How many Master Chief TV series and products are there... compared to Pac-Man merchandise? How many sequels and spin-offs?
I guess there can never be a better character than Mario in future games. After all, it was "of all time".

It should be common knowledge that awards cater to the lowest denominator!
The closest you could ever get to the award meaning anything would be identifying the voters specifically, IE:
"Woman gamers",
"18-25 gamers",
"purchases",
etc.
"The best", or "The Favorite", or "murika's favorite" is only so much propaganda and idol making.
95 percent of the best selling games have nothing to do with the best made games!

I could beat gramps in Wii Bowling easy
Gutiar Hero is a joke of a game to begin with so like I give a crap about that.
I could beat more human people in Street Fighter IV if I even liked the game which I don't. I kick ass at it and have never been beaten by anyone, still hate it though.

It may of sold a lot of copies but it's poorly made game. Sure the single player is ok but multi sucks. Washed out graphics, dodgy sounds. I mean come on it's like playing cod3 again.
