New Drum Rocker for Rock Band 3 coming from ION

It's a brand new game, so a brand new peripheral should make sense. ION is coming out with a new Drum Rocker peripheral for Rock Band 3, making it all more posh and, yes, most probably expensive.

The new Drum Rocker Pro will rock four drums, three cymbals, a kick drum pedal (with "all-metal" construction!), a new "Pro Pedal", a "dual-chain drive, adjustable beater and rubber trigger." Whew. That's a lot of improvements right there!

While ION did not give a specific price tag attached to this new product yet, but based on the new stuff you've just read about, expect something hefty for it. What is definite though is that you can expect this to come out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii come this holiday season.

Um...everything listed there, the current ION set already does so.....hum...

Oh wait, the kick pedal actually having a stick is new. But I use a third party pedal anyway.

Wow you might as well just go out and buy a real drum set if you are going to go this far for a game....

It IS a real drum set. You just have to swap out the controller module with a MIDI module.

What's the point of having double pedals if the game doesn't support it?

Also, this kinda sucks after spending so much on the current drum rocker :(

The game doesn't have to support it. I have double pedals on my current ION set. The hardware has to support it. How YOU drum is how YOU drum. The software doesn't care.

now, i think you misunderstood me. What i meant was, that double pedal will not be charted in the game, so the only reason to use double pedal is, well, if you suck, to be frank :P

This is definitely charted for double bass pedals. This also isn't the only song like this either.

I remember that video! That song is insane!!! He's using a double throw setup. Two hammers to one bass drum.

Of course you have double pedals when the game doesn't support it. No really, most people would want to spend a fourtune on game controllers that cost as much as REAL DRUMS.

And nobody cares about your $600 fake drum set or how YOU drum.

They aren't double-pedals smart one. The left one is a high-hat pedal, and the right one is a bass-drum pedal.

Will it be charted that way in RB3? I haven't found any info that states as such. The way it works now, the two are chained off each other for double base. It would be nice to support high-hat though.

As far as harmonix have stated, there will be _NO_ changes in the drums, apart from cymbals actually being charted.

So there will be _NO_ changes but there will be a change....thanks for clearing that up!

I heard back from ION, the pedals will not be chainable. You can however purchase a second pedal that you can chain for three pedals. They could not comment on RB3 at all :(

I am sorry for my poor use of words, as it may have confused some people, however, you seemed to get the point, so there really were no reason to point it out.

Actually, it's cheaper than I thought it would be: $349.99. The left is the original Ion Pedal, used for open/closed high hat. The bass pedal is the new pro pedal. ;-)
