New Devil May Cry announced, has a younger Dante

As the rumors have claimed, Ninja Theory is indeed working on the next Devil May Cry game. And as the September 9 trademark says, the new game will be called DmC. Keiji Inafune promised a more Westernized appeal for this next installment, and for that, they gave Dante a big makeover.

No long, white hair for DmC - it's gonna be short and black. Factor in that mugshot and you have what appears to be a street punk. All they've revealed for the game so far is that teaser trailer above, but we'll keep you updated once more info comes in.

I got mixed feelings about this. Its not going to look like a normal DMC game, but the game is probably going to be sick just like all the others.
What everyone has to understand though is that none of the games are in chronological order. They are all out of place for a reason, you need to play them to understand why they are out of place.

Do you not realize what a reboot is? It's trying to remake DMC and bring the franchise back to former glory. This isn't apart of the first 4 games at all, it's a completely built from the ground up remake of DMC to bring the series back, but like always capcom ruins their games from what makes it great. Resident Evil was the first, Devil May Cry appears to be the second and maybe street fighter is next.

this is a standalone DMC game. Hell, I called DMC3 a reboot to the series after a tremendous failure DMC2 was and it's still miles ahead of this garbage.

I'll keep an open mind I'll give NT the benefit of a doubt. I mean it still LOOKS good and gives similar feeling as the original just not what I already see as DmC. A diff game would just be seen as a "rip off" DmC if it had a diff name and all diff character. But the backlash of the revamp of Dante may be too great, personally I'll accept the change and enjoy it if its good bottom line.

Would all of you just grow a fucking backbone. This is obviously a reboot of DMC. The over the top fighting is still there, are you all fucking blind. Just because they redesigned Dante doesn't mean this will be another RE4. And FYI, thats not emo, he's not whining, crying, complaining or talking about his emotions. He looks more like a punk rocker who's kicking ass and taking names. And you don't even know if something happens later in the game that turns his hair white. Don't be so fucking biased, DMC is in the capable hands of Ninja Theory. Give it a chance, you might be surprised

Heavenly Sword was a gem and if you don't believe me then check out your local gamestop, DMC was just announced and you people are already writing it off as lame, emo, american, etc. Have you seen any gameplay? HAve you seen the new Dante's personality? The answer is no. The only thing you saw was Dante killing demons with a cigarette and saying my name is Dante. So shut up and save your complaints for when the game comes out

Sad to say, but idk how any devil may cry fan will like this. first off, they failed with DMC4 so because of that, capcom lost any creativity(rath er they never had any and the true genius behind DMC was Hideki Kamiya) and they got some other developer, aka ninja theory, to make a reboot cause they don't know what else to do. They're ruining DMC and I have a right to voice my dislike on this change. if all the little infamous fans can whine and moan about how they changed Cole McGrath's look and Sucker Punch listed, then we have a right to moan too.

This is just another attempt to appeal to the west which it seems to be failing quite hard on this trailer.

I agree with you to the point that japanese devs are turning to western devs for assistance but that's about it. Inafune himself stated that japanese gaming is on a creative downward spiral. You said it yourself, if it ain't broke don't fix it, the trailer did have that trademark kinetic action that DMC is known for, and if you take a closer look at Dante's hair you might see that he has a little Reed Richards thing going on. Just try and give it a chance, you might like it. And if not, then at least wait until you see some gameplay footage to make up your mind. Just don't write it off as "terrible" the same day its announced

And you know this by only looking at the reveal trailer. He has 2 guns and a huge sword, who's to say that we wont get to see Rebellion, Ebony & Ivory or even Alastor int he final game?

first of all , i'm with all those guys who'r HATING the westernized PUNK luk... n 2nd of all, i think it was the SUPER cool n unique dante(n later on nero)look that appealed to its fans ,although the fighting skills were the best... I like other dmc fans am findin it really hard to swallow...we played 4 seris with our greaat heros.. n NOW they'r asking us to shift to THAT idiotic gameplay.... n lastly mr.,IORI was not even close to this freaak!! If you watch carefully, Dante has a skunk thing going on with his hair, you can see it pretty clearly in a few scenes. So hopefully that doesn't mean the game is going to "stink"! lol! I'm hoping it recaptures the way the first game made me feel, how it was so cool.

Weeew the new reboot of DmC really looks awesome. On my understanding they made DMC morerealistic, the way he runs and shoots marionettes that was jut SOOOO awesome and the way he glided through between the buildings then all the windows broke.. I'm telling everyone you should give it a chance.. I really think this game is going to rock!
