Motomu Toriyama: No more plans for Final Fantasy XIII DLC

ciethstone Around this same time last year, Yoshinori Kitase said that they were exploring the possibility of DLC for Final Fantasy XIII. Guess where that exploration came to. If you're still out there hoping for costumes, an expanded Crystarium, or new Cie'th Stone marks to hunt down, it's time to give it a rest. Square Enix is not putting up downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII.

Back in August 2009, Kitase indicated that there was a possibility of "new areas, items or enemies, but these would not be expansions to the story, only the gameplay."

Now, a year later, director Motomu Toriyama tells a gaming magazine that "We had plans for DLC, but those plans disappeared. Apologies!"

Square Enix has previously revealed that there was enough discarded assets from FFXIII to make another game, but the only way you'll see those is if you get first-print copies of the international version...or if someone uploads them.
