Monopoly going 3D for the consoles |

Monopoly has been doing pretty well down at the App Store, but Hasbro and EA are looking to step it up a notch in another stage. Right now, they're working on a 3D Monopoly game for the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360.
The new game, Monopoly Streets, will allow you to create your own avatars and roll like a Monopoly tycoon. Just like in the popular board game, you can develop property at low-value distrcts, as well as put up high-end facilities in fancy streets. For the Wii and Xbox 360 versions, you can play as your Miis and Xbox Live avatars.
EA is also planning to add downloadable content for the game, such as themed boards, characters, tokens and avatar gear.
“We’re taking Hasbro’s No. 1 family game brand and masterfully striking the balance of offering the classic Monopoly play experience and adding a spectacular new visual treatment as we bring the classic board to life with players walking the streets of Monopoly,” said Chip Lange, General Manager and Senior Vice President of EA’s Hasbro Division.
For this, EA is targeting an Autumn 2010 release.

I've only liked one digital version of Monopoly and that was for my Pocket PC. I've hated every other version. They all take to long to play. They never streamline them enough for the advanced player. I got to beta test the Pocket PC version and they took a lot of my input and the game came out very well (mind you NOT because of me) but they put a few good time saving features in there because of me.
Port THAT version to my iPhone and I would be in heaven!!!
