ModNation Racers patch 1.02 has freezing issues, fix coming

ModNation Racers patch 1.02 addresses one of the biggest complaints gamers have about the game: the long loading times. The problem is, it seems to have a freezing bug in it as well.

 

Gamers who installed the patch are reportedly encountering freezing issues when they start up an XP game. "We found that three of our five single-XP race attempts ended with our PS3s freezing and crashing," says IGN. "Similar reports are turning up on message boards across the Internet."

 

Sony is already aware of the issue and will be addressing it as soon as possible.

The loading times post-patch aren't that much shorter I hear.

Was it me having a bad night last night or does anyone else think the handling of the Karts have changed since the update?

I didn't experience the crashing problems but couldn't stay on the track until I put the driving settings slider towards "handling" and I am normally happy with the opposite setting.

Yea i did notice that this morning, but I just tried to drift more and threw all the newbies who werent used to it hehe.

Logged on now, not much of a noticeable difference. Timed 2.30 to get into the mod spot. You can not skip the intro credits, but I fear you pay for that with an extended loading sequence.

Also notice the online connection issue is still present.

I like that they made it possible to skip the Intro and I also like that you are able to choose whether to go to the ModSpot, Career, the Mod Studio.

I can't believe it took them this long for this tiny update. I kept getting kicked out of races and the game kept logging me out of server. We need cross region in this game. What have they been doing with all these time.

To be honest, I don't think the load times got shorter; they just decided to use numbers other than 0 & 5 when loading.
