mass-effect-2Hollywood's "tremendous amount of interest" in adapting Mass Effect into a movie has finally paid off. As reports would have it, Legendary Pictures has officially picked up the rights to film it.

Avi and Ari Arad are said to be producing the film alongside Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni, while talks is in the works to get "I Am Legend" screenplay writer Mark Protosevich to lay down the script.

Thomas Tull was quoted as saying that Mass Effect is "ripe for translation" and that it had "depth, compelling characters and an engaging back story."

Make this good, Legendary.

I will go on a killing spree the likes of which this world has never witnessed. I hope they involve the original game writers.

It could never live up to the game. The bar is set way to high. I'll keep my expectations low.

evil shepard or a good shepard. my bet is on good because they want people rooting for a good character. kinda ruins the whole point since mass effect was all about choosing your dialogue.

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite movie on the Citadel.

Hollywood is at a new low, so much for creativity and originality, it doesn't exist any more.

I hate f$%% game ripps that the movie industry is pulling out these days, its usually is crap or epically dumbed down with crappy writing, you know you could never beat a game story line.

Yay! Finally we'll see ME on the PS3!
Worse than a crap port, it will be the MOVIE port :P
Why do we PS3 users always get the worst version?

(don't get me wrong, I only own sony consoles and my pc is too old to play even the first ME so this was just my failed attempt to make a joke - bah, think i'll go to sleep now)
