Marvelous announces Half-Minute Hero sequel

Last year's Yuusha 30 -- released by XSEED in the west as Half-Minute Hero -- is getting a sequel dubbed Yuusha 30 Second.

Developer Marvelous Entertainment is keeping the 30-second mechanic of course, but the focus this time is on RPG gameplay. The game's story will unfold across five scenarios with a total of 90 new quests.

The sequel also features ad-hoc multiplayer for up to four people at once and an editor toolset that lets players create their very own minigames.

Yuusha 30 Second hits Japan on November 4. No mention has been made regarding a western release.

I absolutely do not see the "spark" that everyone else did with the first game. I bought a copy but sold it after trying to get into it for an hour, it made little sense, had no charm, the music and art were terrible and just didn't have any redeeming features beyond the original concept with the free flash game.

Can anyone explain what made the first good?

maybe ur the type of person that wants a higher standard. the game has a very cool story, gameplay is very unique.

why was it made 8-bit?

Oooh! Can't wait for the Sequel. I don't know how i got interested on the first one, but it might be because the characters were cool looking, and how 30 Seconds is pretty difficult to do.

Looking forward to this. I loved the Hero and Evil Lord modes in the first.
