Mafia II debuts on top of the UK charts

Take-Two’s highly controversial crime drama sequel, Mafia II, went straight to the top of the UK's all-format sales chart last week, kicking Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days into second spot. According to Chart-Track, the game also becomes "the biggest U.K. game launch since Take-Two’s very own Red Dead Redemption 14 weeks ago.”

Here's the list of the top ten games that made it in Chart-Track's All Format category for the week ending August 28:

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days (Square Enix)

Would you have preferred the old standards of Monty Python or Are You Being Served?

In either case, I find your taste to be dubious as well. How can anyone not find Top Gear to be a good show? Unless... You're a member of the Morris Marina owner's club. In which case, you're argument is invalidated on the basis of liking such a bad car.

The problem with us is that casual gamers happened overnight. I remember when the original Goldeneye was in the top 10 chart for a year. They were happy days.

What happened was everyone here bought a Wii. Every... one. Only they then wanted to take the next step. Which is why these poorly made titles like Mafia 2, Kane and Lynch can even hit the top spots in the charts. The buyers simply do not know better.

Don't really like that Top 10 at all games just don't seem to fit the places they're at.

I barely knew about Mafia 2, not much info for advertising was done. The first I saw was here of the poor PS3 graphics.

But it's still a nice game (PS3 graphics apart).

Is not better then GTA 4 is like a sequel but more old.

Great story but too boring gameplay, duno how it topped the charts.
