With his trusty scythe, Heinrich is a close combat specialist with brutal attacks. Gretchen, on the other hand, will provide support as an NPC, conjuring traps and spells. Remember the contract, you're there to protect the witch. If at any point in the game she gets killed, it's game over.

As you progress through the game, "they can deal tremendous damage onto their tormentors with fluid, fast-paced combinations and unleash gruesome finishers by coordinating the efforts of Heinrich and Gretchen." While Heinrich is a skilled fighter that won't die, Gretchen's spells and her survival will be crucial to winning important battles, so you have to learn how to work with the NPC.

Enemies range from normal, human-sized enemies, all the way up to huge monsters. By "huge," I mean monsters that have hands bigger than you.
