The Kingdom Under Fire series has largely been an Xbox and Xbox 360 affair when it comes to consoles. Developer Blueside will be breaking that mold with the upcoming Kingdom Under Fire II.

The MMO-strategy ARPG hybrid was confirmed for a PS3 released by Blueside and Sony at Korea's G-Star event, one of the biggest online game trade shows in the world.

Among the tweaks Blueside are making to their in-house engine for the console release is a simpler and more intuitive control scheme. The developer also promises "realistic visuals" that fully utilize the PS3 platform.

"PS3's performance and network features offer us many possibilities considering the aspects of MMORPG that requires continuous updates, and that is the main reason why we decided to make the PS3 version," said Blueside CEO, Se-Jung Kim. "I believe releasing the title for the console will enable us to reach out to a broader audience not only in Korea, but all over the world."

Blueside plan to release the PS3 version in 2012, a few months after the PC version hits retail.
