1. Justin Wong: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is the "cheapest game ever made"
2. Cheapest game ever made

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is now out in stores and you can now start picking your best team and practicing their combos. But if you listen to what top tier pro gamer, Justin Wong, has to say about it, you might not need that much practice at all. The game is apparently so easy that he describes it to be the "cheapest game ever made."

mvc3a

Wong is probably the best Marvel vs. Capcom 2 player in the world. He won the Evolution Championship Series for that particular title in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010. The years he didn't win, he placed second.

Granted, Wong is a prolific player and he may be looking at MvC from an angle that the rest of us don't, or can't. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 could have opened up certain imbalances that the most avid of players would definitely notice, and if there are unfair advantages to be found, Wong would spot them.

The reason why the control scheme is made "Easier" so it will be playable for a bigger auidince. I played Tatsunoko vs Capcom and I stillfinded it rather difficult to learn how to chain all those combo's properly.
Capcom really doesn't give a crap about this guy anyway. He can whine all he want and they won't lend a ear to listen to him. If this guy is annoyed by the easy gameplay he should stick with MvC2.

he's a guy that played MvC2 perhaps more than everyone else, so i can imagine his disappointment that he can't enjoy the same tournament-grade kick out of MvC3, new characters and graphics and all..

maybe capcom can give the pros a tournament build for Evo?

He's right though. This game is way too simplified. These days it seems Capcom just wants to make more money instead of pleasing their fans.

For people saying it's easier to learn - it might be easier to pick up and play, but the combos are actually harder to execute with any consistency since it's difficult to tell whether you character will break into a punching or kicking combo based on a slight tap to the right or left. I gotta agree with papajag - Capcom stopped caring about what players wanted a while ago; they're getting like Square-Enix in that they're only in it to make a quick buck.

Agreed, that its been made for a bigger audience. Justin Wong has to stop crying like his sister and go play part 2, if he wants that feeling of domination back. Let the non-greedy players get a piece of the pie, you fat greasy piece of ugly crap.

Capcom and Square Enix haven't stopped caring about their fans. Their fans stopped caring about the company. Fan whining and bitching doesn't build the game it causes the developers to change what was already great about a game into some whiny little piss ants dream about what he thinks would make a good game. In my opinion leave it to the developers, they're the ones building it not you. If I remember correctly they modified the system from MvC to MvC2 and made some huge important changes. If Justin wants to keep his title then learn to play the game and stop becoming a whiny old guy.

yep i totally agree....art work is laaame
shouldve just kept it 2d..battle system is just as wong describe laaame too its like tatsunoko...u dont get the feel of this game like mvc2...not fun to play anymore..and every character is played the same light, med, heavy, special..etc.. idk maybe some other people will like it...i hope mvc4 will be better than this..it seems like they didnt put a lot of effort into this game...i.e. ryu n zero frm tatsunoko..

If they would listen to fans only and focusing on other audince there won't be a sequal of any Capcom game. If you don't innovate you don't make profit.
If you don't make profit you go bankrupt and its goodbye Capcom.

Justin Wong is just bitter he is no longer a god among us in the game. MvC3 is no cheaper than MvC2 in my opinion nor is it simpler. Just now all the characters are equally good as compared to the god teir of MvC2. Wong did not dominate int MvC2 when it first came out. He waited till most of the cheap tactics have been figured out then he built on that. Trust me in a few years when this game is figured out he will change his mind . . .

@Vandara. I was going to say the EXACT same thing!!! Wong wasn't even a factor in C.O.T.A. days, MS days, XvsSF days, MvSF days, or even MvC days, no one ever heard of him in any of those tournaments. I was playing at those tourney's. He wasn't even present in the first couple of Tourney's of MvC2. It wasn't until they started exploiting AHVB that he even popped up on the scene. Now he's crying b/c all the infinites that he spent hours working on have been tossed out the window. Like you said once they come out with some cheap crap for this one he'll be all over it again. While he's saying that it's a cheap game I guarantee that he's still playing it trying to re-establish his skills.

If this game is so easy... why is the frikkin' Strategy guide 400+ pages? If this game is so easy why is the Basics of the game section in the strategy guide over 60 pages? There's so many new tactics in the game and so many features that they have added, I never imagined that they could take the game this far with 3 buttons. I admit I was mad when I heard they took it down to 3 buttons and a special. Especially coming from 5 previous titles with a 6 button layout. But I didn't like the 4 button layout on MvC2 when it first came out... I got used to it and didn't whine about it. Capcom said very plainly. They want it to appeal to the masses but experts will easily be able to dominate anyone who thinks they'll just be able to walk up to the game and win. I'm off my soap box now. Justin Wong -Quit whining and get your head beat in like the rest of us. Or like you did when you started playing MvC2. Suck it up!!!

I'm actually agreeing with Justin Wong. Capcom just made it a bit too easy. They made it so that a damn noob is in the same lvl as a 10 year pro. Jeez i would be mad as well if they made my favorite game so easy that a new comer has the same skills that I do...oh wait Capcom already did...Monster Hunter Portable 3. BIG disappointment. Too easy, I was able to solo all the way without breaking a sweat.

i agree it is cheap. i beat the game on the hardest difficulty setting using ONE MOVE all the way to the boss. really? the cpu can juggle me in the corner for my entire life bar, but it can't effectively counter a spammed sentinel beam?!?!?

i've never been that good at games, yes i generally own all my friends... but worldwide, i suck.

so anything that makes games easier to play (and by virtue of that, MORE FUN) then by all means let it be cheap.

i don't see racers talking about ABS, TCS, STM or any other improvement that makes driving cars easier as being a bad thing (at least not the smart ones).

keeping with the car analogy... you want a car thats tough to drive, get a model T. the rest of us will enjoy our newer cars.

the should had left the control layout alone. i hate Tatsunoko vs Capcom just because of the controllers. capcom should have let player have the option to pick the classic control layout.

He's right.
To put the tatsunoko versus capcom simple button config. Was a very big mistake. I tried the game and i hate it. This is xbox 360 and ps3, NOT WII

He's just mad that he can't adapt to new game mechanics. Sure, he's a great player, but someone who stays in the past gets thrown to the wayside real fast.
