We need you! The QJ community has ventured into a new game, and has a new bid for galactic conquest through a web-based online strategy game called Ogame. You might have heard the name before, as the game itself has been going for a very long time. But now QJ.net forum members have ventured into this online strategy game in a bid to take over it, and we are already causing a stir. The so-called QJA (QJ Alliance) already has 32 members, and we are growing every day.
What is Ogame?
The aim of Ogame is to dominate the universe, building mines for resources, ships for transportation and conquest, as well as colonizing other worlds. You start out on a lone planet with limited resources, and much like a real time strategy game, you build up your resources and technology to expand your empire. It is your job to manage planet resources, build a fleet and ultimately rule a galaxy populated by thousands of other players.
How do I sign up?
Firstly join our forums if you are not already member to become part of our gaming community. Then, head over to www.ogame.org and click "join for free now" to sign up. You will then have to set up a username - try to keep this the same as your QJ Forum username to make things a little easier. The important part is that you select "Universe 31" when you sign up. Failure to do so will result in you being a part of the wrong universe and being all alone in the dark abyss of space.
The easy part is over, now you have to build your empire. To join the QJ Alliance simply click on "Alliance" on Ogame.org and then search for QJA. Submit your application and one of the senior members of the alliance will process it for you.
I signed up...what do I do now?
Since the game has been so popular in our forums, we have created a dedicated Ogame forum to consolidate hints, tips, QJ Alliance issues and chat under one roof. Here you will find useful links to get you started. As building up a strong alliance will help the alliance to grow, new members will be provided with help in terms of tactical advice as well as resources (if need be) to get started from more experienced QJA members. Remember though, we are all trying to better ourselves so we do not have an endless supply of handouts to give!
The game is rather slow at first, but within about 24 hours of opening an account you will have a lot of resources to spend and new technologies to research. We want to have a team capable of competing with the best, so all members will be rewarded with a strong team spirit, and defense from outside attackers due to the sheer number of QJA members, and the experience and technology level of highly ranked members.
Just a few words of warning remain: It can be quite addictive.
