With the recent decision of the U.S. Library of Congress to make jailbreaking legal, it's only a matter of time when the underground scene releases something to jailbreak the iPhone 4. And rightfully so, iPhone Dev Team member comex stepped up to the plate to release JailbreakMe, an easy to use browser-based jailbreaking tool for your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

The best thing about the jailbreak, it’s very easy to use. Just visit the official site www.jailbreakme.com from the Safari browser of your Apple handheld, follow the onscreen instructions and you're done! Here's the complete list of supported devices of the jailbreak:

All they have to do is restore it and that 4 digit lock is reset. And it is recommended to restore before you jailbreak so...sorry about that. Unless you had that MobileMe program (which had that useful iPhone tracker thingy called "Find My iPhone" where it would literally find your stolen iPhone for you...I don't know how it does this) there is not much you can do now...

first off you would have to put the code in to do this. SEcond the lock can be taken off by simply restoring the ipod.

Just remember folks!!! You need to change the root and mobile passwords on your device after you jailbreak, otherwise you are open to attack from something as simple as a text message!

You have to install OpenSSH from Cydia.

Then use a terminal app like Putty to connect/SSH into your phone. From there it's all linux comands.

Or, you can forget all that and install Rock from Cydia. Which is just an alternative to Cydia only it SUCKS BALLS. However it will do it for you. It asks you when you first run it. It asks for the new password you want to use and changes them both for you.

Rock is my prefared Apt Pkg installer cos it just works without having to wait for a refresh or anything, if you have alot of sources, like I do, the last thing you want to do is Wait... rock does it all very very quickly.
