Itagaki vs. Tecmo case now settled

  itagakiAfter a long-drawn out battle, Tomonobu Itagaki has finally settled his case with his former employment Tecmo. While he did make this formal announcement, though, he did not reveal the nitty-gritties of the settlement.


A little history is in order in order to fully appreciate this development. Back in June of 2008 (it's definitely been a loooong time), Itagaki filed suit against Tecmo allegedly for unpaid compensation and "disingenuous statements". The target of his allegations was CEO Yoshima Yasuda.


He then left the company and even threatened to bring the franchise with him. Since then, it was all-out war between the two entities, exchanging words, with Tecmo the one frantically attempting to do damage control.


All that is in the past now, with Itagaki thanking his supporters, "I wait for the day when I can announce to everyone the new title that I'm currently conceiving."


And you can bet he'll bring you "world class entertainment" with "a greater depth of play than before" -- cos that's exactly what he's promised.

I'd love to see what new franchises will come from this. Hopefully it will not be as it is currently (360 exclusives with a year later release on PS3)

Nothing new will come from it. Itagaki has made his opinion well known that he prefers to develop on 360. He says PS3 is to difficult for him to program around.

When did he say that? cause last I checked he celled developers babies for saying the PS3 is to hard to program for.

He hasn't developed anoything for Sony for a long time. He never wanted Sigma to be put on the PS3 or Sigma 2.

After the release of Sigma which was done by another part of Tecmo, he gave some lame reason as why he thought the XBOX version of Black was the best and the PS3 version sucked.

If you ask me, as a PS3 fan, I hope he doesn't get back with Tecmo. Only for US to receive a multiconsole Dead or Alive.

It's been water under the bridge since before the case even occurred. He's still bitter that he was demoted after his sexual harrassment case in 2006.

Just because he thinks he is badass doesn't mean that he is. All of the Team Ninja games that I have played have been pretty average, yet his fans treat him like a God and view his games as the best ever.
