itagaki_thumbs_up_mntThe settlement of his suit against Tecmo might jst have been what Tomonobu Itagaki was waiting for before he moves forward and openly talks about his new game. The proud developer has now broken his silence on his new project, and Japanese magazine Famitsu's got it all covered.

According to Itagaki's two-page interview spread, he teases that "[I believe] the game I'm making now will be a little bit like nothing anyone has ever seen." Not only that, he even forecasted that this new game of his will sell up to four million sales, even when nobody has yet to figure out what it's all about. Then again, it's Itagaki, and for sure he's got some major tricks up his sleeves.

And while he was tight-lipped about the recent settlement of his case against Tecmo, he did talk openly about his new company, Valhalla Game Studio. Tecmo alum Satoru Kanematsu joins him aboard, while Itagaki-san plays Chief Technical Officer.

Right now, he revealed that there are about 50 employees, and that while he does plan on hiring some more people, he does not want it to become a "mega-studio" overrun with hundreds of people.

just realized that, all in all i know it doesnt matter i know the writers are constantly spitting out articles to keep us informed, so they dont always have the time to make sure everything is perfect.

I dunno why, but I don't really like this guy. he seems cool enough, but its almost like hes hiding his true facade of being a big-headed jerk.

its probably the shades...

... yeah, its the shades. 8)

I've never liked him and many other game developers dislike him as well. They generally have come to a consensus that all he cares about is T&A, even at the expense of gameplay.

Like to sound like a douche, but it is "a" not "an", and "spelled" not "spelt". Oh, look at that! A little red line.

yes i was wrong about the an, as for spelt.. its a past term of spell http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spelt

while you are correct that "spelled" probably would have been more appropriate, i chose to use a different word.. savvy?

He didnt say it WILl sell 4 million, he said his goal is that the next one will sell 4 million as the most he has sold was 2 million from DOA3.

No he said it will sell up to 4 million.

From the article sourced by QJ.
"He went on to estimate the sales of his new game in the area of four-million"

Incorrect,

his direct quote was ""Dead or Alive 3 was the best game I made saleswise -- it did two million copies," he said. "For this game, I'd like to at least double that and get four million people to play it. You have games selling 10 million these days, after all, so I don't think throwing out the four-million figure's that outrageous.""

Which is why when you are a different site, trying to cover the news of another site, words get twisted.

Why does this guy always have to wear those shades. Is something wrong with his eyes? Team Ninja probably got tired of him not showing them his eyes. Maybe he sleeps have of the time without them knowing it or something. Maybe once he takes those shades off, I can take him seriously.

Good to see that Itagaki is still incredibly sure of himself to the point that his game (that will probably suck like DoA or be average like NG) will sell that many copies.

Yup, his games are so average and suck, lol.

No, just because YOU think that they're average does not make them average. I wonder when idiots such as yourself will begin to realize that the world does not revolve around your opinions.

Maybe it will be something to do with his Valhalla company name, like a game about norse mythology and battles from the same. It would certainly be something that has not been done much before. Alternatively, it could be a new ultra realistic boob wobble simulator that he will implement into a game somehow.
