Itagaki: My new game will sell four million copies |
Listed in: PSP, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PC Gaming Tags: Tecmo, Tomonobu Itagaki
According to Itagaki's two-page interview spread, he teases that "[I believe] the game I'm making now will be a little bit like nothing anyone has ever seen." Not only that, he even forecasted that this new game of his will sell up to four million sales, even when nobody has yet to figure out what it's all about. Then again, it's Itagaki, and for sure he's got some major tricks up his sleeves.
And while he was tight-lipped about the recent settlement of his case against Tecmo, he did talk openly about his new company, Valhalla Game Studio. Tecmo alum Satoru Kanematsu joins him aboard, while Itagaki-san plays Chief Technical Officer.
Right now, he revealed that there are about 50 employees, and that while he does plan on hiring some more people, he does not want it to become a "mega-studio" overrun with hundreds of people.

From the article sourced by QJ.
"He went on to estimate the sales of his new game in the area of four-million"
Reply
his direct quote was ""Dead or Alive 3 was the best game I made saleswise -- it did two million copies," he said. "For this game, I'd like to at least double that and get four million people to play it. You have games selling 10 million these days, after all, so I don't think throwing out the four-million figure's that outrageous.""
Which is why when you are a different site, trying to cover the news of another site, words get twisted.

No, just because YOU think that they're average does not make them average. I wonder when idiots such as yourself will begin to realize that the world does not revolve around your opinions.
