What's the one thing that can convince you that Gran Turismo 5 will still get released in 2010? Official Sony statements don't seem to get the job done, so maybe a retail disc spotted in the wild will.

 

Someone on the GTPlanet forums has posted what is supposedly a picture of Gran Turismo 5's PAL Collector's Edition. Included are the disc itself, a booklet, and the packaging. I personally can't say if it's real or not, but you can decide for yourself.

Incidentally, the GTPlanet thread where the picture was posted is now in a furor over posts that allege the owner of the disc will upload a few videos of the game to YouTube. If you want to join in on the F5 mashing, just head on over there.

Sony said the demo of GT5 comes next month (December), I'll wait to play it before buying it.

Just goto an electronics store. My Sony rep put the demo on all PS3s at PC Richard stores, and said that he was doing all the Best Buys in the region as well (region being Connecticut)

I don't want to say fake without any evidence, especially since it's entirely possible for this to be true... but printing covers and disc labels is such an easy task to do that there's a good chance it's also a fake. If they managed to get the game out of shrink wrap and photocopy the disc and cover, then they've definitely taken it home or at least somewhere secure. Why not play it? Why not scan the booklet?

I don't know... the omptimist in me still thinks it's real, but wankers like Gamersuper have meant that that side of me isn't as big as it used to be. Fingers crossed, eh?
