Details are now trickling out as to the sudden appearance of security in the Infinity Ward offices. As it turns out, IW head Jason West had been let go.
This detail was found out via his LinkedIn profile, which now lists his IW position as "past", with a date showing that it ended in March 2010. Another item that's been buzzing around is that Activision is "flexing their muscles" against the studio which, apparently, is attempting to "push back against change."
Yeowch. Sounds like some major power struggle is going on there. We'll keep you posted on more details as we hear more.

In an SEC filing made this morning, Activision cited a human resources investigation into "breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward."
Based on the information we currently have, at least one of those employees may have included Infinity Ward CTO Jason West. It's possible Vince Zampella is the other unmentioned employee.
"This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation," read the filing. "At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company."

It's unlikely but these guys could have been embezzling money, passing on secrets/data to other companies, but whatever they were doing was in breach of their contract from the sounds of it.
So from me that's a "good riddance".

This is just like the Dynamix Tribes 2 fiasco - If you aren't able to do the job that you PROMISED, then you get your little house folded and need to look for a job.

Maybe not to you but you have to admit it did make big on it's sells. Acti just thinks that if they keep rolling with the idea that if this type of game sells in the 10's of millions (or maybe more...), they'll keep making the same/spin offs of it.
i.e. Guitar Hero/Rock Band/DJ Hero
If they keep selling the same thing every year, the games are gonna suck more and more =/

I'd agree with fighting Activision over changing the multiplayer from single purchase to subscription as that really is taking the piss, especially because the DLC ain't exactly cheap. Treyarch should be able to do their thing, at least it gets some more content in the gamers hands.

Probably not.

Maybe Zampella and West shouldn't have been greedy bitches and sell their company to Activision in 2003.
Also in Zampella's case, it's a bad idea to publicy decry your boss and owner like he has over the years. And even less good to physically attack your boss, Kotick, in a meeting (as the rumor goes)

Activision needs to die off, they made a really bad Spiderman game, whenever they make Spiderman games, those games lack any replayability AKA wheres unlockable costumes.
Actually Spiderman hs gone down hill ever since Spiderman the movie, last great Spiderman game was Spiderman 1 and 2 for the PS1. Atleast they had unlockable costumes and such.
Bobby Kotick is a hypocrite for insulting Sony by dropping support for it, if Sony doesnt drop the price on PS3 and guess what, they dropped the price, only for Kotick to price Call of Duty MW2 so high AKA 100 dollars for special edition and like 250 dollars for CODMW2 with Night Vision Goggles and such.
I mean my pops could easily get a freaking night vision goggle for FREE! but then again he was apart of the military.
But seriously Kotick is really hungry for money, admitting last year if it wasnt for Sony and MS, he would price his games at 100-200 dollars each.
