2. Download and more

Homebrew developer Mathieulh has released the initial version of his PSP PS3 PKG Decrypter Extractor, a nifty tool that, as the name suggest, allows you to decrypt and extract Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable PKG files (excluding updater ones) for your Windows PC.

Developer's note:

What does this do ?
This will decrypt and extract Playstation 3, Playstation Portable and mixed GAME PACKAGES (NOT UPDATER ONES !) onto your pc.

How do I use it ?
Just open the package you want to extract or drag and drop it and click on "Extract package"

Can I run this on Linux ?
Sorry this app is windows only, however full sources have been supplied along with it so feel free to make a Linux port out of it, you have my blessing.

Can This encrypt/sign my game packages ?
NO, when this application was written, the main concern was about packages decryption, so that part was kinda skipped, however it is trivial to do the reverse operation, remember, sources are supplied.

where do i get these "packages" and what do i do after i find them and if i cant sign them then whats the point of using this because if i cant sign them then it seems useless to use being that we cant do much with it anyways how about releasing an emulator first oh and by the way it only works on retail pkg files anyways

once someone releases an app to do the opposite, as mentioned in the readme, people can write some homebrew (emulator, app, anything), sign it with this, and pop onto any old PS3. Sony are powerless now

Yeah its aimed at devs. Primary you can now deccrypt everything without the need of doing so on the console. It doesnt do anything new but more convenient =)

Does this mean, once another program is written that does the opposite, that we can "sign" any homebrew software and run it on any PS3? Does it have to be modded, or just ANY PS3?

I keep getting the following error:
"An error occured during the decrypting operation: destination array was not long enough. Check deskIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds."
Any suggestions??
