Said Bateson, "I have been overwhelmingly gratified and humbled by the sheer dedication to the Hitman franchise that the fans have expressed. For all the kind things that have been said, I am truly thankful. That kind of dedication and appreciation fo the game deserves repayment... with an even more gob smacking installment in Hitman 5. I don't envy IO Interactive for the pressure they must be under to deliver. I am utterly convinced they will!"

To these comments, IO has this to say via its official Twitter account: "This is rumour control. While Bateson's comments are flattering, they are a surprise - we are currently not working on any projects with him."

Note that they only went so far as to say that they are currently not working specifically with Bateson, but not categorically denying that they are working on Hitman 5. Back in March, a teaser trailer was also leaked for what was allegedly an E3 presentation of the game. We've posted it here again for posterity's sake.
