As expected, Halo: Reach, debuted this week at the top of the UK all format chart, recording the biggest ever launch week for Microsoft and the fifth biggest launch ever in the UK. It also ended the three-week reign of Mafia II, now down to the third spot while the PlayStation Move title, Sports Champions, which was released on Friday, sneaked in to second place.
Bungie's last Halo game for the Xbox 360 platform joins Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360 and PS3), Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) and Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360) among the ranks of biggest UK launches ever.
Here's the top ten for the week ending September 18:
- Halo: Reach (Microsoft)
- Sports Champions (Sony)
- Mafia II (Take-Two)
- Toy Story 3 (Disney)
- Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (Ubisoft)
- Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 (Ubisoft)
- Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days (Square Enix) (Square Enix)
- Just Dance (Ubisoft)
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (EA)
- Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar)

As well as perfectly following my hand movements (motion controller), it also follows your body movement, e.g running round the room. Got a respectable 75 on metacritic, and I'd agree with that score.
Tried most of the move demo downloads from the store and think a got the best of the bunch so far. Also quite liked ubisofts racket presented. Tumble is good fun, but equally frustrating, so not sure id buy that from the PSN. Ecochrome Sonys light trick of light puzzle game has been redone for move, which works really well.
As a background I hated playing various mates wiis but I like what I see so far with Sonys Move. I think its the accuracy combined with the Hd visuals, that does it. I'm looking forward to the free heavy rain update in a few days.
I think the Wii has a hd successor, in Sony's PS3 this Xmas. Lets see if Microsoft adds some physical UI add ons for Kinnect to make it more comparible to Wii & Move
In summary if you have a PS3, grab yourself a move controller 27 quid at Asda, plus the PS Eye (9 quid at Game) if you don't already have one, and download the game demos for free. I promise you'll be back to the shops for at least one more controller in no time.
If you have a 360 get Halo Reach. Look forward to seeing some real user kinect reviews next month.
