Guild Wars: The Scribe |
Ó
According to the History of Tyria, that land had been inhabited by serpents prior to the coming of humans. Once humans had undone the balance so carefully achieved by the serpents, the latter retreated to the deserts.Meanwhile, the Gods, being benevolent, gave earthly creatures the Power of Magic, so that their lives would be a little easier. True to form, humans became greedy. When the gods' gift was not enough, the race broke into factions and fought for dominance.
Eventually, the war came to an end. Not wishing to repeat their mistake, the Gods took back their gift, then broke the Stone -which was the source of the Magic - into five pieces, one of which became a keystone, without which none of the magic would operate...
Thus begins the story of Guild Wars, most of which is ancient history, now.
If you need some help in keeping up with the latest news from Tyria and Cantha, however, your life just got easier.
An unnamed, wandering monastic has brought forth the first issue of The Scribe, a weekly publication available free on the Official Guild Wars web site, that will keep players updated on stories about battles, events, and various guilds. In addition, there will be features on individual players from time to time.
