Speculations of a GTA V have been roaring since late last year. It wasn't really taken seriously for lack of any substantial evidence -- until now, so it seems.Reportedly, a site with the url rockstargames.com/v will begin downloading a file. While it does not indicate anything specific regarding any of the known (or suspected) iterations of the franchise, it does pique one's curiosity.
GTAIVlife posits that this could possibly be a build up for an announcement in March from Rockstar, based on a certain page 13.
What's even more interesting is that visiting the said site a while later no launches the download, but now only has the site stating that the "page is unavailable".
The "GTA V" mystery will only grow from hereon out, that's for sure, but we're gonna have to tread lightly on this one. We'll be keeping you updated if we hear any more about this.
In the meantime, do keep your eyes peeled out as well, and do tip us about it if you hear anything.

sorry bout caps but i really had to stress that
it will be GTA 4: Blah Blah
GTA5 is ages away
look at ps1 and ps2
gta 1 was quick lived before the new engine of GTA2 was introduced
but out of 2 we had london and 19something (old time cars)
ps2 was released and GTA3 was released not long after.
however the next one wasnt GTA4, it was GTA3: Vice City and San Andreas
GTA4 will follow same path
same engine, different dynamics.
san andreas may i remind you was truely complete.

It will a be spinoff with the same engine. Maybe they introduce planes and attribut points again. *wishing*
I have no idea which city they want to use this time, though.
Maybe Chicago? Moskow? heck, even Berlin, my hometown, maybe?
Come to think of it. Berlin 1989/1990 would be cool somehow! I can already imagine missions where you destroy the Berlin wall.....

I think it'd be pretty cool if they included some of the RPG-like features from San Andreas, but flesh them out a little more.

They were addons for GTA1 actually, there was nothing between GTA2 and GTA3.

so why wouldnt it be like 3
GTA3 = limited
GTA3 VC = less limited
GTA3 SA = totally free, true freedom
GTA4 = limited
GTA4 next = less limited
GTA4 next again = total freedom

r.a.g.e engine, they made it to use for all their games. even that old table tennis game on the 360 uses the same engine as gtaiv

So because that happened with the gta III games you think it must happen this time?
the game engine thing doesn't count because this is their engine this time
not that Im saying it wont be a subtile game but short of them using liberty city again there is no real set patten in the way they are doing it.. yet
but,
gta 1, london expan, gta 2 - ps1
gta3, vc , sa - ps2
gtaiv, dlc, ?? ps3
...there is another patten forming there which leads me to see Gta V possible (if we have to go by release pattens)
in any case it has to be another city, preferably elsewhere in the world.

The Euphoria engine is not theirs. Madden 2010 runs on that engine for crying out loud.

lol runs on Euphoria engine you can even turn Euphoria animations off on the pc.
it runs on the rage (rockstar advanced gaming engine) engine like all their games since table tennis.

I'm on the kind of drugs that tells me GTAIV cost $100million to make and like you obviously failed to read in my last post there's no point making a whole new engine, but if they did a new one the game would cost $100m+ but the GTAIV engine still has plenty life in it.

But now first think on first then the future and why Rockstar Games just easy make a Gold Edition with Vice City and Liberty City Stories that two games missed on PC it´s just 2 little games for the people need just all and in the future 2012 GTA V Final :lol:.

Vice city/san andreas would be considered DLC on todays gen. We've aleady had that, being lost and damned and gay tony.
So there's no reason to make oh let's say GTAIV: Chicago/Australia/The Moon for freakin sake!

GTA IV is on a slowly dying ship. Makes sence to continue on.

they should make a gta4 vice city and a san andreas
and to the guy who said following the same path of GTA3 would be boring

Saying "Someday there will be computers fast enough to make even this crashing, unfinished, un-optimized piece of crap fun!" doesn't suddenly make a bad port worthy of $50. Not close.
