Polyphony Digital is tracking Gran Turismo 5 for a November release. That's three months away. So, is the game finally finished? No, says boss Kazunori Yamauchi.
“GT5 is getting to where it will be finished shortly,” he tweeted recently. Yamauchi also noted that this extended development cycle is pretty much the norm for previous Gran Turismo releases, with development continuing until the eleventh hour.
It may be the norm for them, but it's sure to elicit at least a few groans from waiting PS3 gamers. Gran Turismo 5 will come out on November 2 in the US.

Please don't delay the release to 2011. We've waited too long for this and PSP's version which took long but came out last year.

Wait too long and soon nobody will be paying attention to care.

I wish GT PSP was compatible with PS3.

Obviously it's not finished yet otherwise it would be released tomorrow.
What do you expect them to say? "Yeah GT5 is finished and ready to go but, despite it being the most anticipated PS3 game of all time, we're going to sit on it for 6 months"
A complete non-story.

things dont get finished and released in 24 hrs
Devs arnt sure when theyre finished, so they give a date far into the future in which they should be finished before, this allows marketing to be done for that day.

Why would they hold off releasing a finished game when they could get a few more months sales.
GT5 is going to make an absolute killing whenever it's released. Sony wouldn't delay a cash machine like that.

because its being marketed for a november release

This game better be bloody great, or we'll all just shrug our shoulders and go back to Forza 3
