Small things here and there

A lot of the commentary has been recycled from 2K10, but since I'm practically immune to that already, I don't really mind. Even if they overhauled the entire thing, I'd get tired of those eventually anyway. To make up for it, Doris Burke has an entirely new set in place of Cheryl Miller, while Kevin and Clark have more high-context things to talk about - which is a good addition.

Collecting Jordans is another feature that I found interesting, and it's even neater that they actually boost player attributes. As a shoe fan myself, I love seeing familiar kicks in one shining catalog and unlocking them one by one.

Michael Jordan

Of course, no decent NBA 2K11 rundown can go by without going through the subject of the Jordan-specific game modes. It's a real treat to finally be able to play His Airness again, and in these graphics. At times, he feels very imbalanced - a speedy, streaky-shooting guard with serious leaping ability is almost too unfair to use. Nevertheless, so much fun.

Completing the Jordan games can be quite challenging, and Karl Malone strongly reminded me why he's the Postman. Overall though, the retro team matchups are great for nostalgia, and makes for more teams to play with.

I'd recommend the game to basketball fans, even if they're still having fun with 2K10. Take this from a guy who has never bought any sports game two years in a row. The game is far from perfect, it has its fair share of bugs, but overall a great game. And hello, it's Michael Jordan.

With all that said, this ain't just my thread. Floor is open, let's agree and disagree!
