GoldenEye 007 designer think Activision remake is just a cash-in

Martin Hollis, the designer of the original GoldenEye 007, has spoken out about Activision's remake for the Wii, and he doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about the publishing giant. For one, he believes Activision is more about cashing in on Rare's popular N64 shooter and less about doing it justice.

 

"I imagine it is a business decision isn't it?" said Hollis in an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine about the making of GoldenEye 007. "This name is valuable, let's use it. I find it hard to picture Activision's top management being excited about the original and wanting to do it justice.

 

"In fact, I find it hard to imagine them being excited about any game. It's my perception that they are trying to be EA, only more so. I think they are doing a fine job at that."

 

Hollis however has a very different opinion of Eurocom, the studio tasked with developing the remake. "I know and like Eurocom," he said. "I think they are a good company. I'm confident they have done their very best."

 

The GoldenEye 007 remake will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Wii this fall.

i agree the games activision have pulled out were mostly shit online untested and later had to be updated because of all the bugs activision even partnered up with blizzard because of the francises they have
activision was always a shitty company throughout history and will stay that way

with the money they're earning i hope they can contribute for the continuation of the 3rd James Bond movie the sequel of Quantum of Solace which was indefinitely postponed. Not that they're connected with the production company or something but it could work out. lol.

MGM won't get any royalties off of this game. Don't sweat it though, James Bond WILL be back; it's like the only good movie series to come out of my country, so someone will inevitibly pick it up!
