Insomniac Games, makers of Ratchet & Clank and Resistance, will also be sharing their take on "creating satisfying combat experiences." Meanwhile, EA/Maxis speaker Stone Librande will talk about how he created board/card games for his children every year as they grew from 3 to 18 years old, and Vector Unit's Matt Small will share a few pointers in "Tales from the Trenches: Startup Advice from a Veteran."

GDC 11 will also touch base on the competitors for the Game Design challege, which "focuses around some of the industry's lead designers presenting a game design concept." Jenova Chen of Flower and Journey, last year's winner, will be comparing notes with John Romero, co-creator of the Doom and Quake games, along with indie extraordinaire, Jason Rohrer.

 

GDC 11 will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, from February 28th to the 4th of March

i'd like to hear about how they went about heavy rain. it's a very promising concept that i would like to see built on by others

Indeed, Ethan's storyline is one of the most griping storylines ever. And executing that through gameplay is pretty amazing, since most games use cut scenes for that.
