They didn't have AAA million-dollar projects, but Rovio and Zynga still managed to clean up in their respective platforms. 2010 was a huge year for the two developers, having released highly successful titles in the past year. Would be great to be able to take a page out of their books, which is why they'll be sharing the experience in GDC 11.

There will be seven summits to be held in this year's conference - Social & Online Games, AI, Indie, GDC Education, Serious Games, Localization and the GDC Smartphone Summit.

For the newly-added Social & Online Games summit, the conference will lend the floor over to Zynga executive Mark Skaggs, who will discuss "'Click Zen: Zynga's Evolution from FarmVille to CityVille."

Zynga topped charts and made headlines over the previous year for the success of Farmville, which hauled in 100 million unique users. Their new game, CityVille, follows a similar formula, and is well on its way to follow its predecessor's success. Skaggs will be talking about "how [100 million unique user Facebook hit] CityVille represents a fundamental shift in how Zynga makes games, highlighted by the similarities and differences between CityVille and FarmVille."
