If you found Demon's Souls to be a hard game, you better strap yourself in an prepare for even more punishment when its spiritual successor comes around.

"You might laugh because you die so much." That's what From Software producer Hidetaka Miyazaki said about the game during a hands-off demonstration in Japan.

"There’s no safe place in Dark Souls," he added. "My goal is to kill all players who think there is a safe zone in Dark Souls."

From Software have said before that Dark Souls will be "significantly harder" than Demon's Souls, but there will also be more weapons and spells to choose from.

Some levels of the game will be littered with numerous traps, so you'll have to watch out for those in addition to the monstrosities that block your path.

demons souls was hard because of the lack of explanation how the game works on the suposed tutorial and that if you die you restart from the beggining like nes games
its a good game but i dont see any secret formula to make this game hard
is like mixing up vagrant story with 8 bit difficulty and ps3 graphics

Demon's Souls hard difficulty wasn't intentional. Now that they're aware that this was the niche of the first game, I wonder what they have planned for this one.

I enjoyed Demon's Souls but didn't really see the difficulty everyone spoke about. Although I did see it during new game+ which was fun to experience.

It's exciting to see they're continuing with another game.

give us kings field 5 or with fast pace combat and same dark brooding mood of the game with kick ass story and in first person and with option for 3rd with all the ideas the mod community comes up with maybe look at what your FANS want from paying upwards of $50 USD !! i doubt its to make a game that only like of the 20 someodd gamers i know with a ps3 and a job only about 4 of them have any thing nice to say about the game sheesh theeey really shouldn't give me this many symbols to use up lol

I hope they can keep the balance between difficulty and a good challenge. That was the secret of the first one (also the online component was part of the key for success - a lesson on how to do it and one of the very few games whose online component I bothered to use).

If they just make it difficult and impossible, like because of bad controls that you also have to fight, then the fun will be gone.

I loved everything about DS. Mustve put in over 150 hrs easily and beaten the game 6 times already. Everything about it should remain the same, the difficulty, the combat, the controls, they were all perfect. I mean after a while of getting ur ass handed to u a dozen times by a boss, u learn from ur mistakes and it becomes much easier. I mean i can kill every single boss in the game without dying now.

The only thing that needed to be change was the online component. It was absolutely ABYSMAL. They shouldve included some kind of in-game lobby or something. I hated leaving the stone on the ground and watching other peeps just walking pass it without summoning me. I mean it can take up to 20 frigging minutes just to play with another person. Change that and the game will be g0dly
