Square Enix have been busy trying to work out the many kinks in Final Fantasy XIV. Not just the PC version but the one for PS3 too. Still, it seems it'll take them more time to do it than they anticipated.
The company has offered its apologies to fans for not yet delivering "the level of enjoyability that Final Fantasy fans have come to expect" even though the PC version has already been out for two months.

To better bring their vision to the masses they're making some internal changes. The roles of producer and director have been turned over to Naoki Yoshida. These roles were previously handled by Hiromichi Tanaka and Nobuaki Komoto, respectively
Yoshida will head a team of people other Square Enix projects -- mostly Final Fantasy related -- to help out on XIV.
