Final Fantasy XIV PS3 delay due to memory issues |

Back in late June, Square Enix announced that they've decided to push back the release of Final Fantasy XIV's PS3 version to March 2011. Producer Hiromichi Tanaka recently revealed that the reason for the delay was the PS3's RAM restriction.
“The main reason was the memory,” Tanaka told VG247. “On the PC, they have enormous memory. For PS3, there’s a restriction. They are adjusting the memory size and customising it; it took longer then we were expecting. But we’re really working hard to bring it out as soon as possible.”
The PC version of Final Fantasy XIV is still on track for a late September release. Square Enix is still in talks with Microsoft for an Xbox 360 version.

A console is really just the micro OS with everything else reserved for only the game. You don't need as much to get comparable quality to a PC on a console.

Ironically, this wouldnt be as much of a problem on the 360. Herf.

They are comparing PS3 memory to PC in size. 512 MB vs 4 GB still a big gap anyway.

and the only thing restricted is the size of the memory itself. But I could be mistaken

The Xbox 360 and Ps3 have the same amount of ram, but the Ps3's is shared, making it harder to work with.
It doesn't have less. It's the same.
Developers are so fucking lazy I swear.

If you ask me, this is a case of bad planning on square's part...
They fully knew the specifications of the PS3 when they started creating the game, so saying middevelopement that they ran into memory issues... yeah..
losing confidence in square every day
