1. Fight Night Champion to have revamped punch controls
2. Why the change?

One thing that sets the Fight Night series from all the other boxing titles is its intuitive control system. With full rotations, semicircles, and jabs with your right thumb, you get your boxer to perform similar strokes. For Fight Night Champion, EA Sports literally went back to the drawing board and came up with what they call the "Full Spectrum Punch Control."

Under this new system, punches will be much easier to execute, and you just need to remember which direction to take the right thumb stick to execute the desired punch. As far as haymakers go, there's the Heavy Punch Modifier to give your blows some extra beef. The new controls should be friendlier to your thumbs and your controllers.

i'll reserve judgment until i try this out, but i was happy with the old total punch control. it actually takes some skill to throw and land the right punches

omg i hated that right stick control. im left handed and i worked really hard to get the aiming done right. and even if i can aim using my right thumb, whenever i try my left thumb i can still aim much, much better. that, and i have to correctly remember the different maneuvers whatsoever. ugh.

i never use the left-hand controls because it's more awkward to walk/strafe using the right stick.

"Gone are the days of the old school heavy punch modifier "..well, because made sense to grab some "air" and then throw a punch, drawing the quarter circle.. like on FR2...
Now pressing a button ..hmmmm..I see a patch comming letting you use the "old school" controls...
