Numerous bugs and glitches combined have apparently done nothing to mar Fallout: New Vegas' success. According to publisher Bethesda, the Obsidian-developed follow-up to Fallout 3 has enjoyed "record sales" at launch.
Bethesda didn't go into detail about the actual sales numbers, but they did note that New Vegas shipped five million units for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Along with a "heavy volume" of downloads on the digital front, the game has already made more than US$ 300 million in retail sales.
”Despite the large launch quantities for this title, we have already received substantial re-orders from our retail partners, underscoring the tremendous popularity of this highly entertaining game," said Bethesda Softworks president Vlatko Andonov. "We believe Fallout: New Vegas will be the “must buy” title for gamers throughout the holiday season.”
