F1 2010 won't be getting a demo

If you're expecting a demo for Codemasters' upcoming racing title, F1 2010, you're in for some disappointment. Community manager Ian Webster has confirmed that they won't be releasing a demo for it, unfortunately.

"Due to the nature of the game, and its layers of licensed content, it will not be possible to make a cut-down, limited content sample that would serve as a demo for F1 in 2010 within our production deadlines," explained Webster.

Not to worry, F1 2010 is coming out soon -- by September 2010 as a matter of fact -- for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

it's coming out soon anyway. still, it sure would have been nice if we had a quick sneak peek at it.

From what I hear, GT5 will not contain F1 Cars, but I could be wrong. Also, Dirt 2 was great.

Since GT5 Prologue already featured a F1 car (the Ferrari F2007), I do believe the final GT5 will have "something" about Formula 1 built into the game, but it is almost certain it won't be any kind of fully fledged F1 mode neither will feature the latest F1 cars, teams or liveries (all due to licensing issues).

If you were to ask for my opinion, I think it will be just a few "classic" F1 cars given out as bonus for accomplishing certain feats in the game.

# Demos are importantAlex Atkin 2010-07-25 09:28
When will companies realise that not releasing demos will hurt sales and/or increase piracy. I for one am not willing to shell out on a game unless I have played it a little and rentals are too expensive.

I played both Bioshock and Oblivion "borrowed" on the PC first, had I not done I would never have bought Oblivion. Likewise the Blur Open Beta sold that game to me. Demos/trials are vitally important to many people.
