EA not releasing EA Sports MMA in Denmark over energy drink law

When the F1 races in a country where cigarette ads are banned, you see the Ferraris ride sans the Marlboro and the McLarens minus the West. In Denmark, there's a similar law targetting energy drinks, and EA Sports MMA happens to have energy drink ads on it. But instead of riding without the Red Bull, EA just flat out cancels the release.

"We are adhering to laws in Denmark that restrict the use of energy drink product placement in-game, and therefore are not shipping EA Sports MMA in that region," said EA in a statement. "Our game authentically recreates the sport of MMA in every facet, including energy drink in-game sponsorships on fighter shorts, gear, and in fight venues."

With that, MMA fans will just have to find other ways to get a copy of the game, or simply get Unidsputed instead.
