When it comes to selling power, clearly the DS wrote the book and its film version. Already on its second year, consumers show no signs of DS fatigue! A few days ago, Yahoo! asked where all the DS have gone. The extremely popular handheld has been as scarce as DiCaprio's blood diamond in North America - selling out in matter of minutes whenever they make their rare appearance.According retail tracker site iTrackr, the DS is currently harder to find than the PS3 and sometimes rivals its bigger cousin, the Wii in terms of rarity.
The answer to the question, according to Nintendo, is simple. "Nintendo DS Lite proved to be a huge hit for holiday shoppers, which undoubtedly resulted in some spot shortages in various regions."
The company promised to keep the supply coming to fill consumer demand. "The DS Lite should be more readily available over the next couple of weeks."
