DS missing in action but not for long says Nintendo

DS LiteWhen it comes to selling power, clearly the DS wrote the book and its film version. Already on its second year, consumers show no signs of DS fatigue! A few days ago, Yahoo! asked where all the DS have gone. The extremely popular handheld has been as scarce as DiCaprio's blood diamond in North America - selling out in matter of minutes whenever they make their rare appearance.

According retail tracker site iTrackr, the DS is currently harder to find than the PS3 and sometimes rivals its bigger cousin, the Wii in terms of rarity.

The answer to the question, according to Nintendo, is simple. "Nintendo DS Lite proved to be a huge hit for holiday shoppers, which undoubtedly resulted in some spot shortages in various regions."

The company promised to keep the supply coming to fill consumer demand. "The DS Lite should be more readily available over the next couple of weeks."

Wrote the book and it's film version! Love it that's a great line and speaks so true. DS is awesome and it's hard to understand how people can still ridicule it for it's just a perfect handheld ^^

So you wanted a DS and waited for it so long but you ended up spending more money on something you don't want... wow you are a dip aren't you. Don't get mad at someone who is trying to supply the product. Your reasoning makes no sense really, so I think you just wrote that comment in just to be a prick so well done on that.

Oh have fun with your psp for a week before you wish you had bought that DS

Some regions have massive shortage - while others - like Phoenix here, have them falling off the shelves in droves.

They are impossible to find here in Hawaii, and none of the stores will tell the shipping dates, either because they don't know it or they don't want a bunch of rabid parents coming in and making a fuss. I've been looking for a while now, but it's just after holiday season and there isn't much chance this time of the year to get one anyway. It really sucks when you have to find 2 as well (one for me, one for my wife, God she loves Nintendogs).
