driver_thumbBack in July, Ubisoft announced the delay of Driver: San Francisco  from November 26th to early 2011. Earlier today, the publisher has revealed that fans of the game will have to wait some more longer as it's been delayed yet again.

At their investor call, CEO Yves Guillemot said that they're pushing back the release of Driver to the following fiscal year to make sure that the game will be at par with their standards and that it will be polished enough to satisfy consumer demands.

"We are taking the time to create an outstanding game and, seeing the competition, it's very important to bring all the fine touches to the game so it can become a good racing game and help us to establish Ubisoft in the racing genre."

This new release window of the following fiscal year means that you can expect the game anytime between April of 2011 all the way through March of 2012. That's a pretty long wait, and hopefully, they'll be able to do whatever it is they're aiming to achieve with Driver.

hopefully it wouldn't take long as gt5. not that the hype is as big as gt5 anyway. but still, delayed games are always a downer.

Right now the reputation of the "Driver" series is very low. If they want to get their popularity up again a mere hype won't do. They will seriously have to polish that game.
