Tim Schafer had a bit of a bittersweet message for Double Fine fans at the Develop event in the UK. A Brutal Legend sequel has apparently been scrapped, but in its place four new games have sprung up.
Of the cancellation, Schafer said, "Apparently when [the publisher] said it was a done deal, there was a deal, and it was done."
After the cancellation of Brutal Legend 2, the studio split into four teams with each working on small "indie-style" games. Double Fine eventually found a publisher for four of their best projects and according to Schafer, we might even see some of them within the year in both retail and downloadable formats.

DF really is the type of company that should be rocking small indie style niche games; they're not an epic AAA big budget style developer. So this is a GREAT move for them and for the customers, too, IMHO. I think they will do great in that mode.

I like Rock music and strategy, however, if you don't care for one or both, I can understand why you wouldn't like it.
