Devs explain what justified Prototype 2

Not that anybody's questioning why Radical Entertainment has decided to come out with a sequel for Prototype, but nonetheless, they gave out an explanation for it. Apparently, a sequel wasn't exactly on top of their to-do-next-list. So what made them change their minds?

The mixed reviews and consumer reception for Prototype was a concern for the devs, and were obviously a serious element in considering a part two. However, "When Prototype surpassed 2million units, we knew gamers would want a sequel to find out what happens next with Alex Mercer," said Ken Rosman, Radical Entertainment boss.

"The team here at Radical is sincerely grateful to the fans and we are laser focused on delivering an even bigger and better experience with Prototype 2," he went on to promise.

Prototype 2 is expected to come out sometime in 2010, this time with the character of Sgt. James Heller hunting Alex Mercer down.

the first prototype was a good enough game for a sequel, imo. but if you could have a say as to what improvements the devs could make for prototype 2, what would it be?

graphics for one, less repetitive, a little smoother controls.

I remember when it first came out, everybody was saying that was better than inFamous, that inFamous was a copy of Prototype bla, bla, bla... sorry, it did not cut it for me, very repetitive gameplay and terrible graphics. On the other hand, I think inFamous was great.
