Dengeki readers want to befriend Mario

Which video game character, pretend they're all real, would you like to be friends with? That's the question to Dengeki's latest poll, and their readers in Japan have voted. The top ten friendables are in, and on top of the list is Nintendo's mushroom-eating plumber. Who else made it to the list?

Despite not being the most social on the list, Solid Snake is at #2. He could sure use more friends, and he might want to have a smoking buddy to hang out with. Much different from Kingdom Hearts' wholesome Sora at #8, who makes friends with all the happy sunshine Disney folks. Making it to #10 is FFIX's Zidane, who apart from suffering a bad bout of emo at some point in the game, seems like a pretty fun cat vessel thing to hang out with.

Mario for a friend? Well, a plumber friend would be useful to fix the plumbing back at home for free.

I liked that Amaterasu and the MH felynes made to the list. With Nate and Sully one sure would have a great laugh all the time. So many others come to mind... Guybrush Threpwood the mighty pirate wannabe, Kazuma, well, just start enumerating and it's hard to chose.

But I'd pick Tifa from FF7

And if I'd have to pick a guy from FF to get along with, maybe Zack would be fun, too bad he bit the dust. Not Cloud, that guy has issues and I'm not a shrink

Having someone cool around does not mean you'll want to be friends with.

I bet some of you would like to befriend someone like Kratos but then you realize he's to much of an ass with angering issues to get involved with.

Hanging out with Snake might be a little boring, he's mostly quiet, talks about warfare and that he's no hero...if you hang out with his old MGS4 version it might be too depressive to be around him. xD

4. Wesker and Sheva (RE)
5. Samus (Metroid)
6. Pipboy (Fallout) lol
7. Spyro (Spyro)
8. Ezio (Assassin's Creed)
9. Master Chief (Halo)
10. Bass and Roll (Megaman)

I put Master Chief there because he could probably push a swing so hard it would fly. Also Pipboy is an excellent advertiser.
