Were there anything about the weapons in the original Dead Space title which you felt could do with a bit more tweaking? If yes, it turns out that Visceral Games had the same thing on their minds.

Steve Papoutsis revealed in a recent interview that the dev team really did decide to have the weapons tweaked so that they'll turn out "more fun".

 

"We looked at all of [the weapons from Dead Space] and we decided there were some that really needed to adjust. We went through all the weapons that existed in the original game, tweaked those slightly, [made] them more fun."

 

These were the revelations he made at the latest episode (the fourth) of Visceral's "Ask Steve" video Q&A sessions.

if you were to have a say on which weapons should be modified, and what kind of modification will be done to it, what would it be?

The only weapon that I've noticed that has changed is the Pulse Rifle, alternate fire now shoots an energy grenade of sorts instead of 360° fire.
