David Allen, the brains behind Mordor, Demise and Horizons, is working with Quest Online on their latest MMORPG, Crusade.

On the surface, its another sword-and-sorcery fantasy game in a world of elves and epic battles against the forces of evil, etc. Like other MMO's, there are races and classes, skills to be gained, and all the other elements MMO gamers are accustomed to. The difference, according to Quest Online, lies in the level of immersion into its virtual world and the number of interactions.

Crusade has a unique "hybrid skill"  system, allowing characters to develop in non-linear ways - instead of "levels," characters have a "power rating" that increases depending on their interactions. The gods in the world of Crusade actually exist and live among mortals, and conflict among the warring factions (the Asheroth and the Kujix) center around control of these deities. Followers of a given deity can fluctuate, depending on which region they're in at the time.  One of the most interesting innovations, however, is the Library - a vast repository of  the Crusade world's total knowledge. This Library can be accessed by any player at any time, from within the game.

Currently, there is a functional alpha version of Crusade; however, Quest Online has decided to delay the release pending some changes and improvements in content and overall quality. Crusade is currently slated for release in 2008.
