Let's set the whole Xbox 360 version possibility aside for now and try and take a look at the PC and PS3 versions which are currently under development. Fortunately, Gametrailers has footages of both, so now we can see how far Final Fantasy XIV has come along.

I got accepted to beta test but I never did it because of its requirements, mainly because I didn't want to give up 10gb for it.

building a PC is pretty easy. just read reviews for the components you select before you buy. if those geek squad goons can do it, anybody can.

I have price parts individually but the best deal I have found is on Newegg. Its a cyberpower pc with 12gb ddr3, a 1tb hard drive and a 30gb solid state boot drive. i7 core 3.2 ghz, and a nvidia 470. All for like 2050. Seems like I might be picking one up.

A tip to increasing your ranking in the bench mark will be to use a high end processor, like an i7 6core processor, or quad, a graphics card that can use all of the cores in your processor and 4g of ram or more, This is a processor intensive game, so overclocking might be needed to achieve optimal results, HOWEVER, do not let the benchmark fool you, As far as I can see its running on the Alpha settings, the engine has now been improved and balanced so the game will require less resources to achieve a nice performance, getting to the 2300~2600 ranks should give you no problems in the real game, building a PC for the 5000 rank and up will allow you to run games for the next 7 years or so.
