More goodies are coming out from the CES 2011. Valve's Gabe Newell brought along with him a video demo of Portal 2 for the Intel keynote presentation.

The video showed the game running on a Sandy Bridge system. Sandy Bridge what? "A Sandy Bridge system can be up to 75% faster than previous generation Core processors, and up to 85% faster than old Core 2 Duo models," explained Newell.
Apart from that, it should also be noted that Newell showed off some of the Portal 2 action with the Razer Sixense motion controller.
From what is seen, and as Endgadget puts it, "it looks like the game's tailor-made to take advantage of your precision arm-waving; moving the right stick controls a tractor beam that emanates from the Portal Gun, such that your protagonist can reach through those game-twisting wormholes without sticking her neck out.
By the way, the Sandy Bridge CPU that was showcased alongside Portal 2 is not compatible with the LGA1156 sockets, so just be on the ready to make some upgrades on your hardware.
Portal 2 is set to come out on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 18, 2011.

1. It doesn't matter if the new CPU supports 1156. In order to get the most out the entire architecture you need the new chipset to go along with it. So it's a new MB purchase no matter what.
2. The entire Sandy Bridge project is designed around on board GPUs. The numbers they are able to achieve are pretty amazing for on board GPU but if you have kick ass dedicated GPUs then you WILL NOT, I repeat WILL NOT see those gains.
3. The cool part is, you'll have a very capable gaming machine with just the onboard stuff.
Don't get me wrong, there will be gains with your own GPU's but not anywhere near the number above.
