Catch NBA Jam on PS3 and Xbox 360 -- but with a catch |
Listed in: PS3, Xbox 360 Tags: EA Sports, nba jam

NBA Jam fans can now rejoice! Shortly after ESRB hinted at the game coming to the Xbox 360 and the PS3, we now have solid confirmation on this matter. However, it's with a catch.
The catch is that you will be able to get it on your PS3 and Xbox 360 only by getting NBA Elite 11. But still, even if you do, there will be something held out from the experience.
Explained Jordan Edelstein to ESPN, "We're still holding back the Remix Tour for the Wii consumer, and that's about 20 hours of gameplay. But for the PS3 and 360, we want to people to try Elite. We feel like NBA Elite 11 is a great product and we want people to give it a chance and see all the changes we're making. So as a way to say thanks to these peole, we are going to let them experience Jam. It's not the full product, but it's a good portion of it."
So just to make things clear, NBA Jam is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, but it will NOT be sold on either the PSN or XBL. "If you still want the full product, the full experience is on the Wii, but if you pick up Elite, you're still getting a good taste of it, especially with the inclusion of online play."

...So what you're saying is that you don't trust Elite to take on 2k11, so you're bundling the game people are actually interested in with the game that you actually want to brag about... Has anybody at EA ever just considered making good games and then charging for those games? It's a bit of a step backwards in the whole progressive-marketing schemes of today (make good games, give them away for free with the purchase of a crap game), but tradition is still better than incompetence...

Besides why should EA make a good game when everyone praises 2k and their game has bugs the developer won't even patch, last years game was near unplayable, but hey Jordan's on the cover this year. You realize he's retired right.
