Carmack certainly knows loads more than I ever will when it comes to making games so I'll just bow down to him on this one.

My main concern is the OLED screen. OLED is still developing and is known to have a limited life-span determined to amount of use.

I believe the second iteration of NGP will change the screen. Although battery life will be compromised, at least it's rechargable and easy to replace!

Sony is one of the first company to release an OLED screen, so i think they already thought about that concern..

correct, they thouht of it, and didn't care, cause it just means more money in their pockets on product (repair)

With today's production methods, life expectancy for an OLED display is at roughly 50,000 hours.
50,000 /24 /356 = 5.85 years of continuous use.

It's a non-issue really.

Why did I think there were 356 days in a year for a minute there? Well, it's probably only a 0.1 difference anyway, but yeah, sorry about the retardedness there. It's 2:33am over here.

I wonder how you will be able to ''continue'' a game from the PS3 on the go with NGP, if the are no L2-R2 and L3-R3 buttons :-?

IKR!! I just got done playing Uncharted, Batman Arkham Asylum, and Halo on my Iphone4 or Ipad!! Idiot.

If you can hook this up to your TV and if it has better graphics than a PS3, then you might as call it the Next Generation Console. Otherwise, i think this will be a success depending on the price/titles (Mortal Kombat and Uncharted for me)

Hopefully the whole back plate is a battery... I'd like it if it would last more than 30 minutes with that processor going at full pace (or even a quarter of that) for a long enough period of time... Traveling across the state to Seattle by car takes about 4 hours or so, so I'd be ok with holding a brick if that's necessary.

Your joking i hope!?!?

Sure the updates dont do much but to call the system/games crappy is just not true, i'm playing Mass effect2 now and before that, Fallout, Batman, Bioshock2, uncharted2, red dead redemption, Assassins creed2 , etc etc
And i haven't even mentioned the coming ones like Dragon Age2, dead space 2, etc etc
There are tons and tons of quality games out there that i would have to clone myself to play them all. Not sure if you like games, maybe thats the problem :)

Every single one of those games bar Uncharted is also available on the 360. I don't have a problem with the 360, but if you're trying to defend the PS3 shouldn't you, you know..?

Funny how reza666 doesn't even mention the xbox 360. He's simply saying that the ps3 console and it's games aren't shitty at all. You're obviously trying to pick a fight. Why are you even reading about the ngp if you hate sonys products so much. Go troll somewhere else xbot.

What the fuck are you on about mate? Where the hell did I say anything about hating the PS3? I have one, and I play it regularly, I was simply pointing out the futility of defending what an amazing console the PS3 supposedly is by listing games also available on its competitor system.

OK, so how about uncharted 2, Killzone 2, God of War 3, Little Big Planet 1 and 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4? Convinced yet? But seriously, saying PS3 has no games on the NGP column? You are obviously a troll.

You're obviously the same dude as above with a different name, because no-fucking-where did I say anything about the PS3 having no games. Don't put words into my mouth. All I said that the games ON HIS LIST were multi-platform, I took issue to the way he constructed his point, not the point itself.

I was going to call you a troll, but I've decided against it... trolls agitate people deliberately, but you've got me convinced that you genuinely are this stupid.

Just click on my username, and look at when I registered, then come back and tell me that I'm a troll. Because I don't think anybody could possibly troll for that long.

Unfortunately 360 in Asia work terribly as most of the service requires fees.. Online play for example??

We in malaysia has to pay tripled due to currency compare to US... Suck to be me... Thats why i prefer PS3...

Different target market yah XD
